LUCIAN FRANCU

Workshop - stage management

Lucian Frâncu has a background in IT and technical sciences before choosing music at the age of 20, when he started singing in various cover bands. His decision to move from his hometown, Brașov, to Bucharest, was prompted by Marian Ionescu’s offer to join the Direcția 5 band as a backing vocalist. All these years, he travelled the country far and wide, sang on all sorts of stages and attended a broad variety of events, all while learning the ins and outs of the music industry.

Having settled in Bucharest, he joined the Bestevent team in 2013, after which he founded At Last – a full-service agency (concept, stage design, production, booking, implementation) for event planning in Romania, active since 2015.

The agency engages in projects such as festivals (music, theatre, film, cultural events), mainstream / alternative concerts, corporate & private events (conferences, product launches, team building, fashion shows etc.), and works with technical equipment and service providers countrywide.

The At Last team consists of:
Lucian Frâncu aka “no nickname yet” – technical manager & consultant, project & production manager
Andrei Preduț aka „Lumină” – stage & light designer – Apart
Alin Popa aka „Hamsie” – stage & light designer – Apart
Mihuț Alex aka „Sonerie” – sound designer – Sound Crew
Bogdan Nedelcu aka “Bobo” – video content & VJ – Bobo Visuals

He is part of the production teams of the Untold (Best Major Festival at the European Festival Awards 2015) and Neversea festivals, where he works as Technical Manager & Head of Stage Managers. He collaborates closely with the Why Not agency in Cluj, managed by Constantin “Luș” Covaliu – Head of Production of both aforementioned festivals, owner of the Street Food Festival concept in Romania, a festival that supports the music industry by setting up a stage among street food vendors.

When he’s not abroad planning festivals, he’s in Bucharest working with the production teams of various Romanian show artists. One noteworthy such endeavor is his collaboration with HaHaHa Production, as Technical & Production Manager of the Smiley project. Their collaboration started off when they met at the 2013 edition of the Voice of Romania TV show, where Andrei Filip Maria was his team’s “coach”.

His main objective is to implement in the event planning field a workflow that is consistent with worldwide standards, as well as new technologies launched by big brands and other equipment producers. He wishes that both the events and the host country will be appreciated by locals and by the increasing number of foreigners visiting Romania as of late.
